ANSWER: DALM
DALM or dysplasia associated lesion or mass is a concerning
finding in a patient with UC. Longstanding UC predisposes the
individual to adenocarcinoma of the colon and screening
colonoscopies are often done. The finding of a visible lesion
associated with dysplasia on biopsy has been reported to suggest
a 50% incidence of cancer when resected. In this case the
associated inflammation makes the interpretation very difficult,
however, malignancy was present.
